| Myanmar Cyclone Emergency Appeal
We are working together with Muslim Aid Asia to collect funds to buy items that are urgently needed by those affected by Cyclone Nargis.
Muslim Aid is responding to the current crisis in Myanmar (formally known as Burma) after the devastating Cyclone Nargis hit the country this Saturday 4th May. Winds of up to 190 km per hour crashed through the country and leaving thousands of people dead and many more missing. Tens of thousands of homes have been flattened, roads destroyed and power lines ripped down, and aid agencies are reporting that as many as 1 million people may be left without access to food, shelter or water in what is being described as the worst storm to hit Asia in 25 years.

Latest reports estimate the death toll to have risen to over 22,500 with a further 41,000 missing, resulting from a massive storm surge that swept into the vast Irrawaddy delta, southwest of Rangoon. The storm gathered momentum in the Bay of Bengal for several days and resulted in a wave that reached approximately 12 feet (3.5 metres) high, sweeping away low lying villages, leaving villagers with nowhere to find shelter.
According to Reuters sources, the government has called for international assistance as food and clean water supplies are running low. Prices of fuel and construction materials have also risen dramatically in the wake of the storm.
Muslim Aid is appealing for funds to help the thousands of survivors left homeless by the disaster. $200,000 has already been allocated as Muslim Aid prepares its relief work on the ground. We will be working with our partners Global Medic providing clean water, medicine and emergency healthcare. |

| jumaat lepas aku ke myanmar embassy, utk dapatkan visa utk masuk ke myanmar..
pegi tengahari kul 12.30, patut dapat jawapan kul 4, kul 3 dah dapat tau kena rejek...
barang2 bantuan dah sangkut kat bangkok....
myanmar @ junta nih nak barang je, aid workers xnak plak...
